About

Clara Fynbu Eggert is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She started her career working as a nursing assistant, and later worked in the intensive care unit as a registered nurse prior to obtaining her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Creighton University. Her clinical experience includes emergency medicine as well as primary and mental health care in a federally qualified health center. Through her experiences with patients over the past 13 years, she has developed a passion for helping patients see the connection between mental and physical health. Growing up in a state with predominantly rural communities, she understands how time and distance can make healthcare access difficult and is committed to helping patients have access to quality mental health care they can afford, regardless of their physical location. She offers visits in-person at IHC as well as via Telemedicine. ____________________ Sandra graduated from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She has a Masters of Arts in experimental psychology from Stony Brook University and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of South Dakota. Sandra has completed assessments at community mental health centers, outpatient clinics, residential facilities for adolescents, VA hospitals, inpatient hospitals, jails, the foster care system, and the Army. She worked with the severe and persistently mentally ill in Wichita, Kansas before relocating to Fort Hood, Texas to work with active duty service members. She values the combination of a thorough clinical interview along with valid and reliable assessment measures to provide a clear picture of an individual’s unique situation. Her work now focuses on psychological assessment and testing. She works with ages 8 to adult to provide assessments for: · Diagnostic clarification (finding the actual diagnosis) · Personality disorders · ADHD · Transgender · Anxiety disorders, including PTSD · Mood disorders, including depression and bipolar disorder · Learning disabilities · Severe and persistent mental illness (diagnosing schizophrenia and other severe conditions) · Memory impairment (is the problem clinically significant or age-related decline?)
